Prof. Debra DeBruin, PhD

Debra DeBruin, PhDProfessor Debra DeBruin is an Assistant Professor, Director of Graduate Studies, and Associate Director, Center for Bioethics; and Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, University of Minnesota. Currently, she co-directs the Minnesota Pandemic Ethics Project, under contract with the Minnesota Department of Health. In addition to her work in public health policy, she teaches and conducts research in the ethics of research.

George Green, PhDAssociate Dean George Green is the Morse Alumni Distinguished Teaching Associate Professor of History and Associate Dean of the University of Minnesota's Graduate School. His scholarly specialty is American economic and business history. He earned his PhD in Economics and History at Stanford University.

Greg LindseyAssociate Dean Greg Lindsey is Associate Dean of the Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs. He previously served as associate dean of the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) at IUPUI in Indianapolis. As associate dean, Lindsey oversees all academic and research operations of the Humphrey Institute. As a researcher, Lindsey specializes in environmental planning, policy, and management at the state and local levels.

Carol Rachac, MA
Joint Degree Program

Carol Rachac, MA Carol Rachac is the Associate Program Director for the Consortium and the Joint Degree Program. She has worked in academic administration at the University of Minnesota since 1988, including 8 years in the Department of Sociology and 10 years in the Carlson School of Management. Carol serves on the Disabilities Issues Senate Sub-committee and has been active with various task teams and process improvement initiatives. She earned a BA in Political Science and an MA in Higher Education Administration from the University of Minnesota. Her duties include management and administration, coordination of admissions, student advising, development, and grants management.

Prof. William Toscano, PhD

William Toscano, PhDProfessor William Toscano is Professor and Head of the Division of Environmental Health Sciences and Head of Global Programs at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. He was elected a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in 2006. He serves on numerous editorial boards, including the Faculty editorial board of the Minnesota Journal of Law, Science & Technology. He joined the Joint Degree Program as Associate Director in July 2009. Prof. Toscano replaces Professor Colin Campbell, PhD (Pharmacology) who stepped down this year after serving as Associate Director of the Joint Degree Program since 2000.

Kathleen Watson, MDProfessor Kathleen Watson is an Associate Professor of Medicine, Residency Program Director for Internal Medicine, and Senior Associate Dean for Education at the University of Minnesota Medical School. She graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School where she also completed her residency. She has an active practice in General Internal Medicine.

Prof. Susan Wolf, JD

Susan Wolf, JDProfessor Susan Wolf is the McKnight Presidential Professor of Law, Medicine & Public Policy at the University of Minnesota; the Faegre & Benson Professor of Law at the University of Minnesota Law School; Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical School; and a Faculty Member in the University's Center for Bioethics. She is also founding Director of the University's Joint Degree Program in Law, Health & the Life Sciences and founding Chair of the University's Consortium on Law and Values in Health, Environment & the Life Sciences. She received her AB summa cum laude from Princeton University and her JD from Yale Law School, with graduate work at Harvard University.

Prof. Wolf's recent research has been funded principally by the National Institutes of Health (NIH); National Science Foundation (NSF); the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation; the Law School's Robina Research Fund for Law, Public Policy & Society (LaPPS); and The Greenwall Foundation. She writes frequently on genetics and genomics, assisted reproduction, death and dying, women's health care, human subjects research, and other topics in health law and bioethics.
