Curriculum Vitae
William A. Toscano, Jr. is Professor Toscano is Professor and Head of the Division of Environmental Health Sciences and Head of Global Programs at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. He was elected Fellow of The American Association for the Advancement of Science in 2006. He serves on numerous editorial boards, including the Faculty editorial board of the Minnesota Journal of Law, Science & Technology.
Prof. Toscano received a PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 1978. He was a post-doctoral fellow in pharmacology at the University of Washington Medical Center, Seattle, WA from 1978-1980. In 1980 he joined the faculty at the Harvard University School of Public Health, where he was an assistant and associate professor of toxicology. In 1989 he joined the faculty of the Division of Environmental and Occupational Health at the School of Public Health at the University of Minnesota. He was named Professor and Chair of the Department of Environmental Health Sciences at the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, New Orleans Louisiana in 1993. He returned to the University of Minnesota School of Public Health in 1999.
