Ms. Mickelsen is Vice President and Associate General Counsel for Allina Health System, a non-profit health care delivery system that includes 17 hospitals and a large primary and specialty physician organization. She is an Adjunct Professor of Health Law at the University of Minnesota Law School and William Mitchell College of Law. She was appointed a Distinguished Practitioner in Residence at William Mitchell College of Law during the 1999-2000 academic year. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Society of Law, Medicine and Ethics (ASLME) and the immediate past president of ASLME. She is also a member of the Advisory Boards of the University of Minnesota Center for Bioethics and Joint Degree Program in Law, Health and the Life Sciences. She is also a legal advisor to the Minnesota Center for Healthcare Ethics. Ms. Mickelson is co-author of Law and Mental Health Professionals, American Psychological Association (revised 1998) and a writer and lecturer on issues of health, law, policy and ethics. Ms. Mickelsen was awarded a Bush Leadership Fellowship in 1985 and has been named a leading Health Law Lawyer by the Minnesota Business Guidebook Law and Leading Attorneys.
