Dr. Anie K. Roche is an associate in the law firm of Cooley Godward L.L.P. She is a member of the Life Sciences Patent Law group and is a resident in the Palo Alto office.
Dr. Roche's practice is devoted to prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications in a variety of fields including protein chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacology, neuroscience, and molecular biology.
She also provides patent and scientific support for business transactions.
Prior to joining Cooley Godward L.L.P., Dr. Roche worked as a summer associate in the law firm of Finnegan, Henderson, Farrabow, Garrett, and Dunner LLP.
Dr. Roche has conducted research in the fields of pharmacology, neuroscience, anatomy, electrophysiology, and biochemistry. For her graduate degree, she researched neurochemical modifications in the central nervous system during inflammation. She has also studied the interactions between opioid receptors and pain-transmitting neurons. She has authored several scientific publications and has presented her research at national and international meetings.
Dr. Roche received her J.D. degree, cum laude, from University of Minnesota in December 1999. During law school, she served as an extern for Judge Michael J. Davis, United States District Court, District of Minnesota. She received her Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Neuroscience from University of Minnesota in 1997. Dr. Roche obtained her undergraduate degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Bombay, India in 1990.
